La investigación que se presenta realiza un estudio autoetnográfico sobre la obra Winter Spirits (1997) de la compositora Katherine Hoover, para contribuir a la creación de unas pautas que sirvan de manera efectiva a la guía para el estudio e interpretación de la obra Winter Spirits. Esta obra catalogada dentro del estilo programático del periodo contemporáneo constituye una de las piezas para flauta sola del extenso catálogo de la compositora, flautista y pedagoga Katherine Hoover. Por otro lado, el presente trabajo pretende poner en valor, y profundizar acerca de la figura de esta compositora. La investigación se ha desarrollado elaborando un proceso de metodología combinada entre los métodos cualitativo documental y autoetnográfico.
The research that is presented carries out an autoethnographic study on the work Winter Spirits (1997) by the composer Katherine Hoover, to contribute to the creation of guidelines that effectively serve as a guide for the study and interpretation of the work Winter Spirits. This work cataloged within the programmatic style of the contemporary period constitutes one of the pieces for solo flute in the extensive catalog of the composer, flutist and pedagogue Katherine Hoover. On the other hand, the present work intends to value, and deepen about the figure of this composer. The research has been developed by elaborating a process of combined methodology between the qualitative documentary and autoethnographic methods.
