Los días 18 y 19 de noviembre de 2024 de 8:00 a 14:30 horas en el aula B1 del Conservatorio Superior de Música "Andrés de Vandelvira" de Jaén tendrán lugar las Clases Magistrales de Contrabajo a cargo de Ernst Weissensteiner, profesor de contrabajo en la "University for Music and the Performing Arts de Graz" (Austria) y Contrabajo solista de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Viena.

Born 1965 in Styria, Austria.
Ernst Weissensteiner received his musical education under the tutelage of Ludwig Streicher at the University for Music in Vienna.
In 1989 he graduated summa cum laude and his achievements were acknowledged with a prize from the Ministry of Arts and Sciences. Even before graduating Ernst became a member of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and has been their Principal Double Bass player since 1990.
As the soloist he is responsible for the premiere of numerous solo compositions for Double Bass. His performances in many orchestras bear witness to a wide variety of vivid styles, -among others in the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Vienna Art Orchestra, Klangforum Wien, Wiener Streicher-Solisten, Auryn Quartet, Dolby’s Around, and the Double Bass Sextet Bass Instinct.
After years of teaching at the Vienna Conservatory Ernst became Professor for Double Bass at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Graz in 2012. He also regularly teaches master classes in Madrid, Barcelona, and at the Escuela de Altos Estudios Musicales in Santiago de Compostella.
